Widows and Caregivers Support Group Members

Karanda AIC and widows support group has redirected the situation by engaging these vulnerable groups to health friendly activities such as basket weaving, group saving and loaning, soon these caregivers most whom chronically ill grandmothers and young widows will be expected to work the farm for the production of green produce to respond to feeding programme and food insecurity. Feeding programme as a project is very much viable and the community has appreciated the desired outcome more so reduction on time wasted while going home for lunch, increased number of pupils enrolled in primary education at Karanda Primary school, high retention and promotion of girl child education, high performance in examination and smooth co existence among the pupils leading to reduction in stigma and discrimination against Orphans and Vulnerable children. The project has improved community livelihood, besides feeding programme ,there is provision of deworming tablets and other drugs for common illness such as malaria.
